SURYA LAUNCHES #SPOTTEDWITHSURYA INSTAGRAM CONTEST 5.28.14


CALHOUN, Ga. — May 28, 2014 — From now through June 20, 2014, rug and home accessories brand Surya Invites designers and retailers to Instagram a photo of themselves with a Surya tote bag in an interesting or unusual location for a chance to win free Surya products. Surya hands out thousands of colorful jute tote bags at various markets and events each year and wants to see all of the fun places that people take its bags.

The following prizes will be awarded to the three most creative and original entries:
       1st Prize: $1,000 worth of Surya products
       2nd Prize: $500 worth of Surya products
       3rd Prize: $250 worth of Surya products

To take part in the contest, entrants must:
       1. Follow @suryasocial on Instagram
       2. Post a photo of themselves with a Surya tote bag in a novel or original location
       3. Mention @suryasocial and tag #SpottedwithSurya

“At Surya, we recognize the importance of using sustainable materials whenever possible,” said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya. “With this in mind, we have designed our reusable tote bags to be both eye-catching and eco-friendly, providing a smart and stylish alternative to plastic shopping bags. Each photo counts as one entry, with a limit of two entries per Instagram account. Instagram users who submit a valid entry agree to allow Surya to use the photo as it pertains to the #SpottedwithSurya contest. Prizes shown reflect retail value of merchandise. The contest will close at midnight EST on June 20, 2014, and winners will be contacted via Instagram.

Launched in 2013, Surya’s Instagram page has more than 3,600 followers.

SURYA SET TO EXHIBIT AT 2014 INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY FURNITURE FAIR 5.13.14


CALHOUN, Ga. — May 13, 2014 — Surya is exhibiting at the 2014 International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) for the first time. The event, which runs from May 17-20 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, is North America’s premier platform for contemporary design.

Located in booth #2508, Surya will spotlight a collection of its high-end contemporary offerings, including coordinating rugs, pillows, throws, accent furniture and lighting in a variety of rich textures and finishes.

Featured products will include rugs constructed of luxe materials such as banana silk, bamboo, hair-on-hide and New Zealand wool with viscose accents, along with chairs, ottomans and poufs in clean, modern designs. The brand also will showcase its extensive custom rug program – available for more than 3,500 rug designs – which enables customers to get the exact size and look they are seeking.
