Company recognized as one of fastest growing in the country

ATLANTA - Aug. 23, 2011 - Surya has been named to Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 500/5,000 list. The accolade makes Surya one of the few firms in its industry to grace the list of America’s fastest-growing privately-held companies.

Since 2004 Surya has seen strong growth, experiencing double-digit expansion annually from 2004 through 2011, a difficult task considering the United States’ recent economic recession. Surya’s CEO, Satya Tiwari expects the trend continue.

“It is a great honor to be named to the Inc. 5,000 list of the fastest-growing companies in the country,” said Tiwari. “At Surya we pride ourselves on providing our customers with high quality and innovative designs for all of our products and receiving this honor shows that our customers are taking notice. We feel our strategic growth will continue because of the strong partnership we have forged with our clients who comprise 75 percent of the largest furniture retailers.”

Surya offers its customers limitless design options. Surya works with the best designers including HGTV designer Candice Olson and Emmy award winning costume designer, Bob Mackie. Surya also identifies and attracts emerging designers and thinks outside of the box to develop inventive design solutions. Each year Surya introduces hundreds of new designs to stay fresh and relevant for changing tastes.

Inc. Magazine publishes the Inc. 500/5,000 list each year to celebrate the most dynamic private companies in the United States. Surya will be recognized for their honor at the 30th Annul Inc. 500/5,000 Conference and Awards Ceremony on September 22-24 in Washington, D.C.

SURYA RELEASES VIDEO 6.13.11

June 13, 2011 (Calhoun, GA) — Surya has produced a video for retailers, sales associates and industry partners to show the craftsmanship and passion behind their product. Surya’s production crew travelled across the world to gather intimate production details from their facilities in India - the result, an insightful documentation of the rug-weaving process and all that it entails. The video illustrates the intricate detail, hard work and sheer craftsmanship that go into each and every Surya rug.

Whether it is hand-tufted or hand-knotted – each rug embodies the true essence of the “Surya people” and is woven with a little love, patience and care. “We want to give people an in-depth look into what we really do. The core of our company is not the rugs – it’s the people. The passion they exude for their craft is inspiring, and we want to share that with the world,” said Satya Tiwari, president, Surya.

The take away from this video: when you purchase a Surya rug, know that it is much more than just an accessory – it’s a hand-crafted masterpiece.
